It was obvious that the city would seek to build on this success and form its own club and that's what happened in July 1995 when a group of local racewalkers decided to promote and grow racewalking in the Ballarat and District area in the best possible way - by forming the Ballarat Racewalking Club.

Daryl Biggin was the main driving force at that time and he remained at the helm for 17 years, generously donating his time and expertise.
